Jesus’ greatest commandments

Jesus' greatest commandments:

Mark 12:28-31 ESV

And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the most important of all?" Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this:' You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

Are quoted from:

Deuteronomy 6:5

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Leviticus 19:18

You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

  1. Hi,

I came across your site looking for scripture set to music.
Thanks for http://www.biblemelody.andyviar.com/, it helped me find quite a few usable resources.

Looking at your site you might enjoy
    http://www.openbible.info/geo/

The site owner has compiled Google earth files that have estimated locations for most place names in the bible (based on ESV). These can be referenced to the place in the bible that mentions the place name.

While the architecture might have changed a lot the geography of Israel is still basically the same – I’ve spent quite a few hours looking in google earth looking up photos and getting a feel for the land – it adds quite a bit of understanding to the text when you read and have some picture of the geography and places involved.

    Regards

    Philip

  2. Philip,
